![]() ![]() ![]() It still took me a total of 18 tries and 11 hours to beat the final boss for the first time even with this god mode on. ![]() I had fun before I turned god mode on, but the game actually felt beatable when I turned it on. I did eventually take advantage of the game's god mode to make thing's a little more manageable (all god mode does is reduce the damage you take) since I kept dying somewhat quickly. I'll be honest, I'm not the best at these kinds of games, but I found Hades very approachable and enjoyable. I HATE roguelikes, yet I love this game with all my heart. I'll be honest, I'm not the best at these Hades is a goddamn masterpiece of a game. Hades is a goddamn masterpiece of a game. Absolute steal at $25, and even moreso when on sale. It's brilliant game design, and the only reason why I haven't delved further into rogue-lite games after this is because I'm afraid Hades is just so much better than the rest. Your experience will change every run-though, and frequent death is inevitable, but the game grows and evolves as you do. There are things I haven't even spoken of that greatly enrich the experience. I'll let you pick your own favorites when you play *wink* I don't know what I could feasibly criticize about this game. Hades is the one character I mostly don't like, but that's exactly what the game wants. My feelings for most of these characters is complex, but nearly all of them boast great performances from their voice actors and smashing dialogue. I was not an ancient Greece aficionado before I played this game, but I assume those people would also be pleased since the game covers nearly all of them, and in a manner that would make perfect sense. If you enjoy exhilarating fast-paced combat, this is a must-buy. All are amazing to look at and listen to, and contribute heavily to this game's legendary status. If not for the clamp-tight gameplay, you could take your pick from the art style, music score, or characterization of actual figures from ancient Greek mythology as the star of the show. Enemies are fun to repeatedly mow down and are just varied enough to never feel like you're fighting too much of the same thing. The combat itself shines and never feels boring - I only stopped playing on Switch because I felt needed to start playing other games, then I bought it on sale on PC and started it all over. And if that weren't enough, each weapon has three variations, all of which feel like they can be used to wreak havoc. Every single weapon is fun to use and offers significant difference in the gameplay from each other. Hades is a bonafide masterpiece of a game, with replay value that extends beyond merely beating the game.
